Home Fires of Tamaki

You wont believe that this sanctuary is only 10 minutes from the central city. Explore this magnificent whenua (land) on foot with one of our kaitiaki (guides) who will share historical and cultural tales of our tribe and Auckland. Soak in picturesque 360 degree views of the spectacular Waitemata Harbour across to Rangitoto Island, Auckland City, and beyond, Orakei Marae (traditional meeting house) and lush native bush. You will hear the calls of native birds as you wander through abandonded barracks and discover the hidden treasures of our modern Māori village.
